How Tracks Can Get Involved
A track can get involved by contacting The Brett Downey Safety Foundation at kenny@mxsafety38.org , completing the track questionnaire form and sending digital photos of your facility. The track owner would verbally agree that their track would implement and maintain The Foundations Track Guidelines. You can check out the guidelines here. http://www.mxsafety38.org/news/0005.htm Furthermore the track owner would agree to have a weekly safety meeting with their flagging crew. It's important the track owner makes every effort to make their facility a "SAFETY FIRST" facility.
If the track owner feels the track guidelines are something their track/facility can maintain then The Foundation's Advisory Panel will review the tracks request. If the Advisory Panel agrees to move forward with the track then The Foundation will send the track what we call a track starter kit. Which consists of yellow caution flags, orange safety vests (for flaggers), helmets (for flaggers) a set of two-way radios, and enter/exit/safety first signs for the track. This is no cost to the track. It is sent to the track as a one-time gift in "good faith" that the track owner will comply and maintain to The Brett Downey Safety Foundation Track Guidelines.

Track Recognition Billboard
The ultimate goal for a facility is to maintain the track guidelines for at least six months and forever there after, which will then qualify a track to receive a 4' x 8' track recognition billboard. This billboard would be displayed at the entry gate of a facility and it would inform customers The Brett Downey Safety Foundation recognizes the track for its efforts relating to safety and the track complies with The Brett Downey Safety Foundation Track Guidelines. If there are excessive reports of the track not adhering to The Foundations Track Guidelines then The Foundation has the right to remove the billboard at any time. It is The Foundations discretion whether to remove the billboard or not.

If you see a track with a billboard and that track is not complying with the guidelines you can report them here info@mxsafety38.org The Foundation will need every rider and parent to assist in reporting a track that is not complying with the track guidelines. Together we can all make motocross safer. Even though, a track has not complied with the Track Guidelines The Foundation is dedicated to assisting that track in order to get them to comply. The Brett Downey Safety Foundation is here to assist every track and ultimately help preserve all tracks.
